From an early age, I was taught to be warm and welcoming towards my family and friends, as if I hadn't seen them in decades. Imagine walking into a room, and the person shouts your name with joy and excitement. It sounds crazy, but it works in livening the room.

Sorry for the anecdote; your story reminded me of the lesson my grandparents taught me. They referred to the ability to engage with others as a "muscle" that needs to be nurtured.
