I once asked my grandparents how they managed to avoid the mundane after making it into their 80s? How did they navigate through life's moments when nothing is happening. In paraphrasing their answer, there is no mundane; there is no boring; there is no tediousness. It is all relative and what you make of it.
A person with spoiling bananas can find guilt in it or an opportunity. The difference is an amazing banana bread recipe and a little bit of elbow grease. As for the paper towels and hot chocolate. You've already the answer. Stick with the brand. You get what you pay for.
I've been through similar experiences, and for me, the solution was not focusing on the mundane and tackling the loneliness. That's the real enemy.
Overall, a vulnerable piece. Very well written. Thank you for sharing!
