I thought your story was very comprehensive in that it covered the beautiful aspects, as well as the struggle of a single-parent household.

To me, your mom didn't have a choice. She had to leave someone who was unfaithful, and that betrayal doesn't heal. I think you realized that and respect your mom for her courage.

Your story's greatest strength (and this was difficult to choose because you have so many in this story) is your positivity. Even as I read about the struggles of substance abuse, trust issues, and income difficulties, there seemed to be an underlying positivity to your writing. That gave me hope!
