I've often wondered why Medium is different. Compared to news platforms, Medium has a host of members who leave respectful responses. Even when the comment is corrective (like correcting someone's grammar), it is usually respectful. This is awesome!

I have a few guesses why this is...

-Medium members have more stake in the game in that they could get kicked off the platform.

-Medium members are usually writers, and they know how to express themselves with respectful words instead of insults.

-Medium comments are not anonymous in that the creators know precisely who you are, which reduces bots.

Anyway, my comment is bordering a long 2-3 minute read, so I'll cut it short. I hope Medium does not change in the commenting department!
